STOP AT ONEではなく、STOP AT ZEROへ

Advanced Osteoporosis Care at Maeda Hospital

Maeda Hospital provides specialized osteoporosis care in Higashikurume, Tokyo, Japan, with a strong focus on fracture prevention, long-term treatment adherence, and patient-centered education.

In recognition of our continuous efforts to improve osteoporosis awareness and treatment, including daily clinical practice, scientific publications, and presentations at academic conferences, our hospital received the Silver Award from the International Osteoporosis Foundation (IOF).

We actively use evidence-based osteoporosis therapies, including injectable medications, and carefully select the most appropriate treatment for each patient according to fracture risk, bone mineral density, age, lifestyle, and individual preferences.

A major focus of our practice is patient education. We explain not only the benefits of osteoporosis treatment, but also what may happen if osteoporosis is left untreated—including fractures, loss of mobility, becoming bedridden, and the need for long-term nursing care. By helping patients and their families understand the disease clearly, we aim to improve motivation and long-term continuation of therapy.

We also actively utilize patient-support programs, including the Re-Bone Club, which provides reminders and support for patients receiving self-injection therapy. Our hospital has achieved one of the highest levels of patient registration and participation in Japan.

In addition, we regularly hold approximately one-hour educational sessions for patients in our outpatient waiting area to improve their understanding of osteoporosis and strengthen their motivation to continue treatment.

We believe that effective osteoporosis care does not always require a large-scale liaison system. Even in a community hospital, dedicated physicians who provide careful explanations, respond promptly to patients’ concerns, and continue to support them throughout treatment can make a major difference in treatment persistence and fracture prevention.

Our clinical experience is also actively translated into academic research. We continue to publish original studies in international peer-reviewed medical journals and present our findings at scientific meetings, contributing real-world evidence from Japan to the global osteoporosis community.

Our goal is to provide osteoporosis treatment that brings confidence and hope to patients and their families. We carefully support each patient in selecting and continuing the most appropriate therapy, while working together with healthcare professionals and pharmaceutical companies to achieve the best possible outcomes.

Osteoporosis treatment can change a patient’s future.
We will continue striving to provide care that prevents fractures, preserves independence, and brings genuine happiness to our patients.
